About Us

Evangelist Rod Black is an old-fashioned, King James Bible-believing Baptist preacher. He and his wife Debbie were brought up in Christian homes and were saved as children. Bro. Black is a 1983 graduate of Massillon Baptist College (Massillon, Ohio), and Debbie is a 1984 graduate of Heritage Baptist College (Franklin, Indiana). Since their Bible college days the Lord has used Bro. Black to start a church in northwestern Pennsylvania as well as to pastor a church in the thumb of Michigan. The Blacks have also served under three other pastors in various facets of ministry.
Bro. Rod and Debbie have four children and seven grandchildren. Amanda, the youngest, is a student at Commonwealth Baptist College in Lexington, Kentucky, where she is studying elementary education.
The Blacks have been in evangelism since April of 2002. They are sent out by their home church, Bethel Baptist Church of Ravenna, Ohio (Dr. Richard E. Skiver, pastor). Although Bro. Rod and Debbie are available for revivals, special days, pulpit supply, etc., the heart of their ministry is to reach out to discouraged pastors and their families; as the Lord provides, they look forward to spending time with these men of God—soul winning, helping with a project, or just being a friend. In June of 2011 at the close of a tent revival in Lima, Ohio, the Lord impressed on Bro. Black’s heart that it was time to set aside his remodeling business and devote 100% of his efforts to the ministry. Please join the Blacks in prayer that God would provide finances sufficient to accomplish all that He has put on their hearts to do.
